Items We Can't Move

To keep your belongings and our teams safe, certain items can't be transported on a moving truck. Review this guide so your move stays smooth, stress-free, and compliant with safety regulations.

Hazardous Materials

Combustible, corrosive, or explosive items pose a serious safety risk in transit and are prohibited by law.

  • Gasoline, propane & lighter fluid
  • Paints, thinners & solvents
  • Fireworks & explosives
  • Aerosol cans
  • Pesticides, pool chemicals & fertilizers
  • Household chemicals (bleach, ammonia)
  • Matches & charcoal
  • Chemistry sets

Weapons & Ammunition

Due to varying state laws and safety regulations, our teams cannot transport firearms or ammunition.

  • Firearms of any kind
  • Ammunition
  • Explosives

Pressurized & Battery Items

Compressed gas and lithium-battery devices can rupture or ignite and require special handling.

  • Scuba tanks & oxygen tanks
  • Compressed gas containers
  • Car batteries & motor oil
  • E-scooters, hoverboards & e-bikes (unless batteries are removed and packed separately)

Perishable Goods

Items that can spoil, leak, or attract pests are not permitted for long hauls or storage.

  • Fresh produce & meats
  • Frozen foods
  • Open or partially used consumables
  • Alcohol & open beverages
  • Live plants (long distance)

Live Animals & Insects

For their safety and yours, no living creatures of any kind can travel with your belongings.

Personal & Valuable Items

Irreplaceable or high-value items should stay in your personal care throughout the move.

Temperature-Sensitive Supplies

Medical and health supplies that require refrigeration or climate control should travel with you.

Liquids

We can't move any liquids. Even sealed containers can shift, leak, or burst in transit and damage the rest of your belongings.

  • Water jugs & beverages
  • Cleaning supplies & detergents
  • Toiletries, oils & lotions
  • Cooking oils & condiments

Items That Must Be Emptied

Certain appliances and equipment must be fully drained or defrosted before we can load them.

  • Lawn mowers & power tools (drain fuel)
  • Refrigerators (defrost 24 hrs prior)
  • Waterbeds (fully drained)

What to Do With Restricted Items

Plan ahead to transport or dispose of these items yourself. Take hazardous materials to a local recycling or waste-management center, and keep valuables and important documents with you in your vehicle. Customers may be held liable for any costs, damages, or legal issues that result from including restricted items in a shipment.
